Ben Rickard
Ben Rickard from Cornwall is our player of the month for December. Ben is relatively new to WEBSF tournaments, entering his first event in November 2015. Ben plays in one of the Cornish leagues and practices on a regular basis with the likes of Eddie Manning, which can only improve his game. His ‘finest hour’ came when he beat Eddie in a Gold Waistcoat event recently. Eddie posted a 62 break in frame one only for Ben to respond with an excellent 78 to win the frame. Ben then took the next with the aid of a 48 break to progress into the quarter-finals….his best Gold Waistcoat result to date. Eddie was visibly taken aback by the defeat and when I spoke with him after the match he was gracious in defeat and had nothing but praise for his practice partner’s effort. Well played Ben!
