Player of the month for October 2015 is Andy Symons. Once a regular on the WEBSF circuit between 2004 until 2012. Andy took time out starting a family but has recently returned to the fold and seems to be carrying on where he left off, winning the first Gold Waistcoat Tour event of the season. His best season to date must have been when he won the English Amateur Southern Region against 68 top amateurs back in 2005. In the overall championship final he led David Grace at the interval, only to take his eye off the ball and let David back into the match and pip him to the post. That season he also represented the England team at the Home Internationals, Prestatyn and reached the last 32 of the World Amateur Championship. In his early days he played open, attacking snooker. Quickly potting balls from any angle with an air of confidence. The pace has slowed a little of late but…..awake the viper and he will surely strike!
