Players of the Month

Wales has a tradition of producing talented young players that have gone on to make their mark in the Snooker World. This month we have ‘two for the price of one’. Both players’ performance on the international stage are deserving of recognition. Current WESBF Bronze Waistcoat Open Champion, 17 year old Tyler Rees from Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, recently won the 2016 EBSA European Under-18 Snooker Championship defeating good friend Jackson Page, 15 years, in an all Welsh final. As a result, Tyler was awarded with a place in the qualifying rounds for the 2016 World Snooker Championship. He lost 10–0 to Jimmy Robertson but much must have been gained from the experience. Since losing in the European final Jackson picked himself up and went on to win the IBSF World Under-18 Snooker Championship. Congratulations to both players on fantastic achievements.
