WEBSF WEST OF ENGLAND OPEN SNOOKER CHAMPIONSHIP
Information relating to the 2013 WEBSF Open Snooker Championship due to be held at the South West Snooker Academy, Gloucester on Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd November 2013.

Registration, Entry and Draw:
The number of entrants has been limited to 32 due to the number of tables available and time constraints. The draw has been made, click here.

Commitment to play:
If a player is unable to fulfil their commitment to play, they must contact one of the Tournament Director (Steve Canniford: 07891940995 or Wayne Branton: 07980788484) as soon as possible, so that their place can be offered to the next player in the reserve list. If this is after the registration closing date (21st October 2013) there will NOT be a refund/credit.

Players Briefing:
On the first day of the tournament a players briefing and group photo call will take place at 09:20, play will commence at the designated start time 09:30.

With 112 matches to play on 8 tables in the group stages alone, strict rules will be enforced to ensure we get through the tournament and finish at a reasonable time on both days. These are:-

Where players are more than 5 minutes late for the commencement of any match throughout the tournament he/she shall forfeit the first frame, if after waiting a further 15 minutes for them to show, the match will be forfeit and the non-offending player will receive a 2-0 win .
Where both players are more than 5 minutes late the match will start at 1 frame each. If both players are more than 15 minutes late both will forfeit the match.
It is the player’s responsibility to keep in regular contact with the Tournament Director to ensure they are available to play when called.

The Referee’s decision will be final on matters relating to the rules of the game and the Tournament Director’s decision is final on all matters relating to the tournament in general.

Format for Day 1 Saturday 2nd November 2013:
Qualifying rounds will comprise 4 groups of 8 players playing best of 3 frame matches, against each player in their group. Each group will play on 2 tables starting at 09:30am. The top 4 players from each group will qualify for the Main tournament (16 qualifiers). The remaining 4 players from each group will qualify for the Plate tournament both to be played the following day, Sunday 3rd November 2013. Some group matches may have to be carried over into the Sunday, depending on time available.

Format for Day 2 Sunday 3rd November 2013:
Completion of any outstanding group matches.

Main tournament qualifiers will be seeded into a straight knock-out on 4 tables down to a Winner (best of 3 frames).

Plate tournament qualifiers will be seeded into a straight knock-out on 4 tables down to a Winner (best of 3 frames).

Prize Money: (Guaranteed at £1000)

Main tournament
Winner: £400 plus Trophy
Runner-up: £200
Semis: £50
Quarters: £25

Plate tournament
Winner: £100
Runner-up: £50

Overall Highest Break: £50

Dress code:
Option 1 – Waistcoat, Collared Shirt, Smart Trousers and Dark Shoes.

Option 2 – Collared Polo Shirt (Single colour), Smart Trousers, and Dark Shoes. (Polo shirts can be purchased from the WEBSF or the Academy)

Jeans, Shorts, Trainers, Sandals are strictly forbidden.

WHO CAN STOP MR PINHEY……YOU CAN?
Haydon Pinhey is starting the Silver Waistcoat Tour much the same as he did last season with a win. Pinhey continues to improve but will he have it all his own way this season? Thomas Lancastle is one player who showed at this event that he will be making life difficult for Pinhey and others will no doubt also have their day.
