Here we go again!
The 2018 / 2019 season starts with the first tournament on the 29 September 2018, not all venues have been secure but hopefully they will be soon. As ever the work of the WEBSF volunteers never stops and over the summer period we have continued to work on the sustainability and growth of the WEBSF. This has brought about the introduction of some significant changes and developments to the way in which we operate. These can be read about by selecting the opening address.

Pink Ribbon 2018
Congratulations to Andrew Norman in winning the 2018 Pink Ribbon at the South West Snooker Academy. Let’s also pay tribute to some of the WEBSF members; Tyler Rees, Callum Lloyd & Dan Barsley (last 16), Andy Symons & Sam Baird (quarters), and Harvey Chandler (Finalist). Great effort in this very special tournament that continues to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer.
Bump Start Needed for the Blade
After qualifying from Q School at the first attempt in order to maintain his professional status, Sam’s start to the new season did not go so well.
Can he find the form that took him to 43 in the professional rankings and a narrow defeat against the World number one Mark Selby in the last 16 of the World Championship in 2013. Follow Sam’s progress on his website

A little help could change lives
World Disability Billiards & Snooker (WDBS) player David Church is also a member of the WEBSF. Like several other WEBSF members David is desperate for some help towards funding his ambition to play snooker and hopefully realise his potential at the highest level.
David is not without some reward for his efforts. So far he has reached the final stages of the Northern Classic, Manchester Classic, Welsh Open Six Reds, the Belgian Open. The highlight of his playing career saw him lift the WDBS World Open Snooker title in 2017. He also won a qualifying match in the Paul Hunter Classic in 2017.
David works hard at his game on the practice table, as do most hopefuls. However, this is the easy bit! the difficulty is finding adequate support towards the expenses needed to compete in tournaments. In spite of a local TV appeal, posting over 300 letters to potential sponsors and investigating many potential sources for funding he has only had five responses, none of which have borne fruit.
